Course Title:  Updates to ISO 9001:2008

Objective of this course:  To ensure delegates:

  • Understand the underlying philosophy and the principles, concepts and revised requirements of the ISO 9001:2008 standard, and how to apply them within an audit context.
  • Understand the key differences between the revised series of standards and the 2000 version, and understand the implications of these differences for effective auditing against the revised standard.
This course teaches various soft skills required to successfully perform audits.
The course is part of the upcoming course series “Essential Audit Skills – Learn How to Successfully Prepare and Perform Audits” aimed at people moving into audit functions, either as (internal) auditors or prime business contact to auditors, and therefore in need to gain an understanding of audit principles and mechanics.

Content of this course:

The programme covers the following topics:

  • The development of quality system standards – “how we got here”
  • The 8 principles of Quality Management – the underlying philosophy
  • Revisions in ISO 9001:2008 in detail – the changes and their implications

To satisfy recommendations made by IRCA (The International Register of Certified Auditors) this update programme will end with a short quiz on the detail covered to indicate to delegates how much they have understood and what areas require further research.

Delivery dates:

  • Each Monday from November 9th from 7.30pm – 9.30pm for 2 weeks.
  • This will consist of 2 live online sessions of 2 hours each, there may be exercises between classes and an end of course quiz.

Certification:  Certification: Open College of Ireland Certificate/ SQT certificate
